Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys

"That's a shame" I sighed when I followed a link from my Facebook page to that of my "friends" The Black Crowes.

"What is?" asked Julie.

"Oh, nothing ..... it's just the Black Crowes ..... they've announced an "indefinite hiatus" and are off on a farewell tour but only in America. They're not coming to the UK."

"Oh, that is a shame" she said quite sincerely. She knew how much I loved the band.

This troupe of minstrels have been my musical companion for the last twenty years. Not only have they entertained but also educated me, expanded my melodic mind and introduced me to recording artists I would never have encountered.

"Why don't we go" she suggested.

"What? Really? Seriously? Can I? Can I? Can I?" I couldn't believe what she was saying. "That would be something special."

We scanned the tour dates and decided that if we were going to all the effort of flying half way around the world then it had be to the last one, the final evening of their "Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys" tour in the famous Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco.

So that was it, set in motion, tickets bought, flights and accommodation booked, we're going to California baby!
